Gnathological dental instruments

What are gnathological tools

A set of tools to understand what the person's current posture is, how to intervene to improve it, and how to resolve issues that have arisen.

What are the tools in the studio

Posturometer

Allows to detect a person's global posture to highlight scoliotic curves, stiffened neck, torso and pelvis rotations.

The mouth is a joint. It functions through muscles that are connected to the spine. An imbalance of it consequently results in an impairment of the entire spine, connected muscles and nerves. The posturometer helps the gnathologist assess whether the mandibular system affects the spine and vice versa.

Podoscope

Detects foot posture: stance, weight bearing, hollow or flat foot.

The podiatoscope also helps the gnathologist assess whether the mandibular system affects the spine and vice versa.

Brux checker

This is a micro bite with a thickness of a few microns that, kept overnight, detects the presence of bruxism and clenching of the teeth.

Condylography

It is the examination of joint function.

It highlights jaw movements and confirms clinical examination assessments.

When it's used

  • In the presence of symptoms that may point to gnathological problems

  • To collect data on jaw function

  • In case of bruxism or teeth grinding

Magnetic resonance imaging

This is the examination for evaluating the anatomical parts of the joints, performed in a medical diagnostic center.

It evaluates the anatomical status of:

  • bony structures;

  • ligaments;

  • menisci;

  • muscles;

Looking for the presence of:

  • arthrosis;

  • arthritis;

  • sprains;

  • inflammatory effusions;

  • osteophytes (bony outgrowths due to wear and tear);

  • correct position of anatomical elements.

ADVANTAGES

  • They allow symptoms to be framed and dysfunctions that have emerged to be treated
