The Clinical Case
TORONTO BRIDGE
SMILE RESTORATION
Clinical:
Dr. Andrea Gerardi
Initial situation
The 58-year-old patient presents with multiple caries and root remnants in both dental arches.
OBJECTIVE
Restore aesthetics and chewing function while ensuring the patient is never edentulous. The procedure is performed through minimally invasive surgery over two sessions, with a maximum of 4 days between them.
TREATMENT
Post-extraction implant surgery with immediate loading:
The extractions are performed, followed by the placement of implants and impressions for the fabrication of the prostheses, all under local anesthesia and conscious sedation. The entire procedure takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.
The prosthesis is delivered either the same evening or within 48 hours after the surgical procedure, depending on the case.
Medical considerations
Immediate loading implant surgery, when feasible, offers significant advantages for patients. The procedure is minimally invasive, allowing the patient to regain their smile and chewing functions within 48 hours, avoiding the need for complex regenerative surgeries.
The prostheses are securely screwed in and are not removable by the patient, ensuring long-term stability and functionality.
