The Clinical Case
GINGIVAL GRAFT
NATURAL TOOTH SHAPE
Clinical:
Dr. Andrea Gerardi
Initial Situation
The 58-year-old patient presents dental shape anomalies due to significant abrasions/erosions on the outer surface.
Objective
Restore the natural shape of the tooth at the cervical level by isolating the operative field, providing a stable foundation for the gum graft.
Treatment
The treatment consists of an initial session dedicated to composite restorations, if needed, followed by a second session for the gum graft.
Medical considerations
The gum graft is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia. Post-operative recovery is painless at the treatment site, while the donor area may cause a mild burning sensation for 3-4 days. Specific hygiene precautions are required for the following 14 days..
