The Clinical Case
VENEERS
STRAIGHT WHITE TEETH
Clinical:
Dr. Andrea Gerardi
INITIAL SITUATION
The 60-year-old patient visits our clinic seeking to improve the aesthetics of her smile.
She currently presents with irregular tooth shape, inadequate color, and black triangles between the teeth.
She expresses the desire for straighter and whiter teeth.

OBJECTIVE
Enhance the overall aesthetics of the smile, ensuring harmony between the teeth, gums, and labial frame.
Thanks to digital systems, we can capture photos and videos of the patient to analyze their smile in both static and dynamic forms.
Together with the dental technician, we design the new tooth shapes and test them in the patient’s mouth using a completely reversible resin simulation.
This process is called “MOCK-UP”, allowing the patient to preview their new smile before starting the actual treatment.
Once the simulation is approved, we proceed in the same session with: minimally invasive preparation of the teeth, traditional impression (with paste) or digital impression (with a 3D scanner) for the fabrication of ceramic veneers.

TREATMENT
After placing the resin mock-up and obtaining the patient’s approval, the next step is the dental preparation using calibrated burs to achieve customized and minimally invasive tooth preparations. This phase does not require anesthesia.
The treatment typically consists of 2 to 3 sessions: aesthetic simulation (mock-up), veneer try-in (and possible immediate application), final veneer application.

MEDICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Veneers should not be regarded merely as an aesthetic treatment, but rather as a minimally invasive and long-lasting prosthetic rehabilitation.
Each step of the procedure must be executed with meticulous attention to detail to ensure optimal results.
The final aesthetics must be customized for each patient, considering both the shape and color of the veneers to achieve a natural and harmonious smile.
